sin is not a piece of chocolate cake.
to enjoy and create art, literature, music that tends to the truth rather than away from it should be unapologetically important.
as amateurish as i am, i find that when i write, or draw or sing or play music, i am not simply performing an activity. this has nothing to do with skill. it has to do with being human and being hungry. there is an ache in the artistic and the creative, you know? a deep yearning for the object whose beauty is only appreciable in little pitter-patters through out imperfect media. but it’s there! light! i was walking down a street today and marveled at how perfect it is that our bodies are made to crave the light and its warmth so.
i feel funny. but everything is gonna be ok.
